Short Presentation about Jeremieprojectcongo
We were honoured to be invited by Interplast Germany to speak about the situation of children in Congo: Children as pawns in hospital.
As there is no health insurance in Congo, patients must stay there until the therapy costs are paid, sometimes they unfortunately lose their enrolment in school. Therefore, the Jeremieprojectcongo enables freedom for these children through donations and sends them back to school, because that is where they belong, not in hospital. We got to know Interplast better and are very impressed what they have moved and operated worldwide - also in our home country DR Congo. THANK YOU Interplast.

Jeremie Project Congo has just built a playground for children in Kashusha village and around east of DR Congo.
A great success for the families of this region who see their children find an opportunity to move, to be together, to enter into joy.
The game is therapy in those areas where children have traumatic experiences as a result of war and violence. No less than 250 children have access to this playground each week.
the playground also includes a basketball court with an academy that trains disadvantaged children who often don't even have shoes but are very happy to be part of it.

To facilitate education is an important good. In the East of Congo kids don´t only suffer malnutrition, poverty and war but also poor standard of education. The JeremieProjectCongo runs an association in the vincinity of Bukavu (South-Kivu) which is called JengaTumaini (building hope), cause education gives a hope for a better future. Please support this precious work by giving money to run our primary school.

Imagine you are supposed to build something with wood whose quality and name is unknown, in a country where neither Hornbach nor Bauhaus exist. 36h travel hours away from German comfort, German infrastructure and German food. And yet it turned out exactly like this: 8 people set off in May. Hard, long journey, to a really beautiful country. But it wasn't that easy: Collecting work equipment, taking all kinds of nuts and bolts with you, transporting 18 suitcases, unfortunately also losing something on the way (a machine and several batteries were stolen), realizing what was missing and only very, very much hard to find a replacement. And it's also expensive. Because most of it has to be imported. Except for Patrick, none of us really knew the languages that were spoken there. Communicating with the workers on site through 3 translators made our job a little easier, but not completely. Partly annoying, partly we really had to laugh when we noticed how word for word, but still not translated in spirit. But who knows what a serrated lock washer is and what it's called in French or Swahili??? In the end, the workers on site quickly dug holes for concrete foundations, mixed concrete on the ground, carried many, many heavy stones from A to B (on their heads), broke them up and shoveled sand / stones and the like. And the German team built the carousel, a swing frame (for 4 swings!), a seesaw, horizontal bars and a massive, beautiful, pompous fort (climbing frame) with a slide within 11 working days. It then continued with a new chicken coop for a sustainable chicken project and a watchtower, not to mention the 'small' jobs like fixing curtain rods that were only hanging loosely with a nail in the wall and repairing doors that had been on the floor for months scrape. In addition, a solar-powered water purification system was installed as a donation, finally clear, And one more thing: a generous donor had the path through the playground paved and thus supported two great initiatives: the playground and a company that has been fighting plastic pollution in Bukavu for several years: stones are made of plastic - and also still really beautiful! And then I'm sitting on the green swing: a view... indescribable. It sits in a perfect spot: the neighbor's tree gives shade in the morning and it's at the highest point of the site! This means that the higher you swing, the further you can see over the beautiful nature of the rainforest towards Lake Kivu - without street noise, without a wall of houses in front of you - and the higher you swing, the more voices of the watching crowd become loud: whether horror or laughter – it becomes clear: no one has ever seen a swing. The kids can climb perfectly, they are very creative, but now they have a playground that will be maintained, where there will be no queues and no traffic. Where they can BE, are allowed to BE, and all without admission.

Tabea and Patrick were invited by the FIG/MANNHEIM church to present the Jeremie project, a project they both created to facilitate education, give hope and prepare the future.
This project helps vulnerable people in Congo to regain hope for a good future. Patrick had to talk about his life of effance but also the conditions in which he grew up, studying but also the interest of his parents in Christian values, education and also the love of neighbour.
Patrick explains why he wants to return to Congo to help his compatriots in the development of their country.
At the end, Tabea and Patrick, both doctors, talk about the future of their project and ask for everyone's support in the realisation of this very important project.

Our partner association in Congo, JENGA TUMANI organized this is 02.01.2022 on its seat in kashusha in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo a big celebration of end of the year with more than 200 children, their parents from the village kashusha and surroundings.
The aim was to teach the children the spirit of sharing, unity, fraternity but also love of neighbor.
Many activities were organized from dances, games by competition, visit at the health center of Kashusha where we released the children interned but insolvent. Children had the opportunity to tell the world what their dreams were. Some of them want to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. Despite the difficult living conditions in their families, they do not lose hope. For some of the parents, it was possible to see the emotions on their faces, while others were able to express their emotion either by crying or by speaking.
We are proud of what our local association is doing, which is totally managed by local people who love and know the problems of the area.
It was also a good moment of pride to see the result in progress

There is no playground or any place for kids and youth to be, to excersise, to play in a safe surrounding. In the village of Kashusha the JeremieProjectCongo wanted to make a difference: with the help of many donors we made it happen: a Basketball court was built an officially opened in September 2021.
In the area around Kashusha there are about 3500 kids who belong to the group of the poorest of the poor. Many feet have never carried shoes nonetheless socks. And even more: many feet have never had a hand washing them. The volunteers and workers of the Jenga Tumaini Basketball Academy made it possible for around 170 kids to have their feet washed and dressed in socks and shoes to get Basketball training 2-3 times per week. What a joy and blessing. It makes a difference in the lives of the kids and in the long run in their family and in the villages.
Check out this video of the official opening, dive into the atmosphere of joy, excitement, competition and expectation.

Jeremieprojectcongo builts an Education Center to facilitate education, build hope and prepare the future. We are situated 30 km outside of Bukavu the beautiful countryside in Kashusha. The Center offer 3 different types of education: Sewing, IT- and English courses to women, youth and underprivilegd people in Congo.
Bukavu, a City which used to be called Swizerland of DRC as one of the nicest in the contry became overcrowded, dusty and dry. It doesn't offer any attraction for kids. Even a pubic playground doesn; t exist.
With around 2M people Bukavu is one of the biggest cities in the Congo. Due to insecurity in the countryside , the population leaves the villages and flee into towns. Without any job or education they can't make their living.
With this Center more than 66 people will be educated every year.
We will also offer jobs to fight against the high unemployment rate.
The pepole in Kashusha are very thankful and promise to keep and protect the building and material as their own.
